Job summary
A leading engineering talent agency is seeking a qualified DCS Engineer to design and configure applications for Singapore's Precision Engineering sector. The role requires a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly with DCS systems like Yokogawa Centum VP. Responsibilities include developing control logic and supporting acceptance tests. Interested candidates should possess strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, contributing to the industry’s growth and innovation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in DCS engineering.
- Practical knowledge of control logic and batch process configuration.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.

- Design, configure, and test DCS applications.

- Design, configure, and test DCS applications including:
- Control/Base Layer – development of control logic, sequences, and interlocks.
- Batch Layer – configuration of batch processes, recipes, and batch control strategies.
- Graphics/HMI Layer – development of operator displays, dashboards, and alarm management. - Prepare functional design specifications, control narratives, I/O lists, and system architecture drawings.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and provide timely resolution during project execution.
- Collaborate with project engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to meet technical requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, test reports, and operation manuals.
- Provide post-installation technical support and assist with system maintenance or upgrades.
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in DCS engineering (Yokogawa Centum VP preferred), PLC, or SCADA.
- Practical knowledge of control logic, batch process configuration, and HMI/graphics development.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in process control, instrumentation, and site commissioning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
