Duties and Responsibilities
Attend vessels to conduct marine inspections. Motivate ships personnel and encourage teamwork and improvement.
Track and close out non-conformities.
Attend vessels to conduct shipboard ISM / ISPS /MLC training and auditing.
Assist in the preparation of ISM / ISPS /MLC documentation for fleet vessel.
Investigation of accidents and incidents, formulate reports and provide corrective actions as appropriate.
Assist in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of vessel's contingency plans.
Assist in periodical review of the HSSE Management System.
Liaise with the vessels in operational, navigation and HSSE matters.
Liaise with the Technical Department on marine matters.
Liaise with Flag State Authorities and Classification Societies.
Participate in recruitment interviews and briefing of senior deck officers and verify the work of Masters and deck officers
Ensure in cooperation with Technical Dept that technically related incidents, failures and damages are properly investigated and reported.
Work closely with the representatives from various classification societies and governing agencies which regulate the operation of our ships.
Recommend equipment and designs for future projects.
Requirements
Diploma in Marine Engineering
Preferably with direct ship experience (as SeniorEngineer)
5 to 10 years of relevant experience 1-3 years of shore experience as superintendent is preferred, candidate with Senior engineer experience fresh from sea are welcome as well
Ability to work within tight schedules under intense pressure and be able to offer best remedies for unanticipated incidents
Able to work irregular hours including late at night, weekends and public holidays
Must be able to board vessels or able to climb heights
Willing to be exposed to external environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate and familiar with MS Office application software
