Job summary

A construction firm in Singapore is looking for a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to enforce safety policies and conduct regular inspections. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations. Responsibilities include investigating incidents, maintaining records, and conducting safety training. Job Description
  • Implement and enforce the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures in accordance with Singapore WSH regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safe work procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare investigation reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
  • Maintain proper WSH documentation, records, and reports as required by regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct safety training, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings for employees and contractors.
  • Advise management on WSH matters and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety performance.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders on WSH-related matters.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety and health.
Job Requirements
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant WSH experience (construction / manufacturing / marine / general industry – adjust as applicable).
  • Good knowledge of Singapore WSH Act, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively on safety matters.
