What impact will you make in this role?

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Unified Communications engineer with strong hands‑on experience to help grow, monitor and manage our global voice and video infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, building, securing and maintaining infrastructure related to collaboration and telephony across the enterprise – ensuring optimal performance, robust security and compliance. This is a technical, hands‑on engineering role that involves having a deep understanding of voice & unified communications platforms, advanced troubleshooting skills, deployment of endpoints, and build and configuration experience of infrastructure to enhance the unified communications ecosystem.

What will you do as a VP, Voice & Unified Communications Engineering?
  • Lead the design, engineering, governance and provisioning in cloud collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom) and Trader Voice Systems, including policies, dial plans, call queues, routing, security and compliance settings
  • Manage the build, configuration and lifecycle of endpoint devices including video conferencing room systems, telephony endpoints, and soft clients.
  • Design and configure Session Border Controllers (SBCs), including SIP trunk provisioning, call routing logic, transcoding profiles, and security policies.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day engineering of the Enterprise telephony (Avaya) environment ensuring stability, call quality, and adherence to change‑control processes.
  • Manage the build, configuration and lifecycle of Trader Voice Systems (Cloud 9/IPC) and oversee circuit status, and interop with dealer boards, PBX systems, and SIP carriers, ensuring zero‑downtime for trading operations.
  • Ensure compliance, resilience and call‑recording integrity for trader voice environments, including integration with compliance recording, and coordination with carriers.
  • Lead product evaluations, systems testing, certification, and product lifecycle management.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of SIP signalling, media flows and device‑level log files.
  • Collaborate with vendors to solve complex support problems.
Improve Processes, Documentation and Standards
  • Develop, document and enforce engineering standards for the delivery and ongoing operation of Unified Communications systems and technologies to ensure maximum system availability and performance levels.
  • Identify opportunities and implement automation across provisioning, monitoring, configuration validation, and change control to eliminate repetitive tasks and ensure consistency in deployments.
  • Monitor and generate reports on system health to ensure the ongoing stability of systems and proactively identify risk areas.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, configuration baselines, and change records.
Integration & Collaboration
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, configuration baselines, and change records.
  • Create runbooks, PowerShell scripts, and automation playbooks for common operational workflows that the Operations team will utilise.
  • Stay current with Microsoft 365 roadmap updates, recommending improvements and adopting new features securely.
What makes you a successful candidate?
  • At least 12 years total IT experience, with 5+ years hands‑on experience in Unified Communications technologies.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Enterprise Voice systems, Avaya Enterprise Voice / Telephony, Trader Voice (Cloud9, IPC, etc), Session Border Controllers and PSTN SIP Trunking, Compliance Recording platforms (Verint, Nice, etc), VC Room technologies (Poly).
  • Preferred qualifications / certifications: Relevant vendor certifications, good understanding of current security standards, strong knowledge of SIP, RTP/SRTP, media codecs, SBC call flows, and enterprise voice routing logic, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for voice and video related incidents and service issues, fluency in English and the ability to develop high quality written documentation.
