Job summary

A prominent shipowner based in Singapore is seeking a Vetting Manager to oversee and enhance the vetting performance of their tanker and gas fleet. The ideal candidate is a senior maritime professional with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry regulations, managing inspections, and developing fleet inspection plans. Candidates should have sailing or shore-based experience with tanker vessels and at least 2 years of hands-on vetting experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong sailing or shore-based experience with tanker vessels.
  • Liquefied gas vessel experience highly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on vetting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end process for SIRE, CDI, PSC, FSC, and ISM inspections.
  • Develop and implement fleet inspection plans aligned with commercial requirements.
  • Review, analyze, and close out observations from inspections.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with oil majors and third-party inspectors.

This role is ideal for a senior maritime professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and hands‑on experience managing the full vetting lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with all industry regulations and standards relevant to tanker and liquefied gas vessels.
  • Oversee the end-to-end process for SIRE, CDI, PSC, FSC, and ISM inspections.
  • Develop and implement fleet inspection plans aligned with commercial requirements, ensuring all reports remain valid, accurate, and up to date.
  • Review, analyze, and close out all observations and findings from inspections, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken promptly.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with oil majors and third-party inspectors; respond to queries and coordinate vetting-related matters effectively.
Minimum Requirements
  • COC Class 1 (Master Mariner preferred).
  • Strong sailing or shore-based experience with tanker vessels; liquefied gas vessel experience highly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of hands‑on vetting experience.
