Job summary

A maritime service provider in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician to perform installation, commissioning, and servicing of marine navigation and communication equipment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, at least 3–4 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in troubleshooting various systems. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of a wide range of marine navigation and communication equipment, including marine radar systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilot systems, maritime IT infrastructure, and VSAT systems.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, testing, and inspections to ensure systems operate reliably and comply with maritime safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical faults promptly to reduce system downtime and maintain uninterrupted onboard operations.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and operational guidance to vessel crew on the proper use and upkeep of navigation and communication systems.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to support system installations, upgrades, and repair works.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements related to marine navigation and communication systems.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial diving, offshore, or marine operations.
  • Possession of a valid diving certification (e.g. ADAS, IMCA, or equivalent) is preferred or required, depending on role scope.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in offshore assignments or site-based activities.
  • CSCUBE / SSDE certifications are an added advantage.
