Responsibilities

Team Introduction: As part of TikTok's wider International Tax Team, the International Tax Business Partner (ITBP) team works hand-in-hand with the International Tax Country Manager (ITCM) team to deliver quality tax advice for all of our international products and services. In addition to supporting the business teams on tax matters, the ITBP works closely with a diverse group of internal stakeholders (including but not limited to Legal, Finance, Government/Public Relations, Procurement, etc.) to ensure that important tax inputs and feedback are provided promptly across all aspects of the company's operations, as needed. Position Summary: TikTok is seeking an enthusiastic International Tax Business Partner to join the ITBP team in Singapore, to support its rapid global business growth.

The ideal candidate is an experienced problem-solver with strong tax-technical skills and the ability to communicate tax concepts effectively to stakeholders, enabling our business teams to develop comprehensive and practical tax solutions across global tax jurisdictions. Responsibilities:

  • Support business teams in performing tax assessments for new products and in developing efficient, tax-compliant solutions in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Share the latest business and product developments with the ITCM team on a regular basis to ensure that all of ByteDance’s products and services comply with international tax requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal non-tax stakeholders and closely monitor any changes in the non-tax environment (e.g., changes in accounting policies, user privacy regulations, etc.) that may give rise to potential tax implications or risks.
  • Monitor changes and updates in global tax legislation to identify potential tax impacts and provide corresponding tax solutions to business teams in advance, ensuring ongoing tax compliance.
  • Provide tax training and updates to business teams.
  • Respond to daily tax inquiries from business teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in global projects involving the ITBP’s in-scope products or business lines on an ad-hoc basis.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive international tax experience in large multinational corporations and/or accounting firms.
  • Meticulous, with strong attention to detail, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement, even amid the challenges of a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and in person, as the role involves working with global partners across different time zones and cultures, as well as explaining tax-technical issues to non-tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, as the role requires frequent communication with Chinese stakeholders in Mandarin-speaking markets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of transfer pricing is a plus.
  • Experience in the Internet/Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) industry is preferred.
