Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to lead the technical team in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of EV systems, technologies, and processes, ensuring the technical excellence of our products and services. The Technical Manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, R&D, production, and service departments, to support the integration of cutting‑edge EV technologies and maintain the highest levels of product quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and technical specialists involved in EV development and service.
  • Ensure continuous professional development and performance management of the technical team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the technical department.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the technical aspects of electric vehicle systems, including the battery management system (BMS), electric powertrain, charging infrastructure, and other EV‑specific components.
  • Ensure that engineering and technical solutions are in line with the company's strategic goals, quality standards, and industry regulations.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, designs, and project plans for new EV technologies or upgrades to existing models.

Product Development & R&D:

  • Lead the technical efforts in designing, testing, and validating new EV models and components.
  • Manage and oversee R&D projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and technical goals are met.
  • Work closely with R&D teams to keep up with emerging EV technologies, battery innovations, and new market demands.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to service teams and customers for complex EV‑related issues, including diagnosing faults in the electric drive system, battery systems, and related components.
  • Develop and implement troubleshooting protocols and technical guides for service and repair teams.
  • Act as the technical liaison between the company and external partners or suppliers for problem‑solving and technical issue resolution.

Quality Control and Standards Compliance:

  • Ensure that all products and systems meet the required industry standards and comply with regulations, including safety, environmental, and performance guidelines specific to electric vehicles.
  • Monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions for any deviations from quality standards.
  • Manage the certification and testing processes for EV systems, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international standards.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product management, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth integration of new technologies into production.
  • Support marketing and sales teams by providing technical expertise for product launches, customer presentations, and technical demonstrations.
  • Work closely with the service department to ensure that technical knowledge is effectively communicated to after‑sales teams.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay up‑to‑date with advancements in electric vehicle technologies and the automotive industry, incorporating new ideas and innovations into the company's product offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and product performance improvement across the technical functions.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and process optimization within the team.

Budgeting & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the technical department's budget, ensuring cost‑effective resource allocation.
  • Oversee the procurement of tools, equipment, and software for the technical team, ensuring the proper resources are available to meet project needs.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred). Specialized certifications or training in Electric Vehicle technologies (such as EV powertrains, battery systems, charging infrastructure) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical leadership role within the automotive industry, with a focus on electric vehicles (EVs). Proven track record in managing technical teams, leading product development, and implementing EV technologies. In-depth knowledge of EV components, systems, and infrastructure, including battery systems, electric drivetrains, charging solutions, and software integration.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage cross‑functional teams. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency in technical software tools for design, analysis, and testing (e.g., CAD, simulation software, diagnostic tools). Deep understanding of safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices within the automotive and EV industries. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Other Requirements: A passion for sustainability and the future of electric mobility. Ability to think strategically and make data‑driven decisions. Willingness to travel as required for project oversight, supplier visits, or technical events.
