Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Senior/Assistant Engineers and Senior/Technicians to carry out overhaul/repair/servicing/testing of rail and other ancillary components to meet the daily production requirement.
  • Ensure teams comply with all overhaul/repair/servicing/testing requirements and related tasks with approved work instructions, quality procedures, safety and operational procedures, and good maintenance standards.
  • Plan and coordinate within teams and other departments/sections to complete the assigned maintenance tasks within an established standard time.
  • Ensure the teams have the necessary qualifications and authorization to carry out daily tasks and any assigned tasks.
  • Attend necessary skills courses to be able to carry out maintenance and assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for the safety, welfare and discipline of the teams.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the team’s equipment/tools and working environment.
Major Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the team’s quality and standards of the maintenance works within the established standard time and in accordance with the Work Instructions and related procedures to meet the daily production.
  • Develop, maintain and update Work Instruction, Risk Assessment, Procedures, Competency Management, Repair Compliance Checklist and Technical Documents relevant to the section.
  • Forecast and plan the resources needed by the teams to complete maintenance tasks and assigned tasks timely.
  • Conduct regular engagement sessions with the team to understand the team better and feedback on their performance.
  • Be familiar with the training, qualifications and authorization to ensure all staff are adequately trained and authorized to support production requirements such as overhead crane operator, forklift driver etc.
  • Ensure proper entry of maintenance job records and data accuracy for statistical analysis.
Specific Safety Responsibilities
  • To comply with SBST’s Safety, Health and Security Policies.
  • To ensure technical staff and contractors are competent, trained and certified to perform the servicing works.
  • To implement and conduct periodic safety inspection and ensure compliance with the specific standards.
  • To ensure that the maintenance and modifications work performed on the equipment and repairable by the workshop is compliant with the safety standards and operating specifications.
  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation of Safety within the team.
Job Specifications
Minimum Education / Qualifications
  • Recognized Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering from a reputable university.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
  • Preferably at least 3 years of relevant working experience in systems maintenance/repair/overhaul.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Good knowledge in electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic systems of electric train.
  • Good fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Software packages.
