Job summary

Purpose of the Role

The Social Worker will provide counselling and case management to residents emplaced under the prison programme and work with their families to help them reintegrate into society, rebuilding their lives on a firm foundation of Christian values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop individual care plans for clients.
  • Manage case files and provide case management for job placement, accommodation, financial assistance and other rehabilitation goals.
  • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions, prison intake interviews, family engagements and aftercare follow-up.
  • Facilitate classes and community service programmes.
  • Collaborate with Singapore Prisons to ensure holistic care for the residents.
  • Assist clients in reconnecting with community resources.
  • Oversee residents’ day-to-day matters.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as and when required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in social service or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese; proficient to engage Chinese-speaking clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in prison or rehabilitation work will be an advantage.
