Overview

SingHealth Experimental Medicine Centre runs several core facilities for translational research in SingHealth. Reporting to the Veterinary Manager, you will be responsible in supporting the implementation of policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and care.

You will be involved in the maintenance of animal inventory, equipment and facilities to ensure full compliance with the National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) guidelines, Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) requirements and American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) international standards. You are also responsible for ensuring the provision of veterinary husbandry and care to support training and research activities in the centre. You will also be required to interact with researchers to facilitate veterinary operations in the department.

Responsibilities

Supports the implementation of policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and care as part of the Veterinary Manager’s team. Maintains animal inventory, equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with NACLAR guidelines, AVS requirements and AAALAC international standards. Provides veterinary husbandry and care to support training and research activities and interacts with researchers to facilitate veterinary operations in the department.

Requirements
  • Diploma in any discipline or GCE A / O / N Level with minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to handle small and large animal work and perform shift duties, including weekends and public holidays
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
