Job summary

Job description

COMO Metropolitan Singapore marks a debut homecoming for our Singapore-founded company. It's the first time COMO Group’s signature brands – COMO Hotels and Resorts, a multi-label fashion retail space curated by Club 21, a new urban wellness space by COMO Shambhala, contemporary international dining by COMO Cuisine, as well as Michelin-starred gourmet concept by COTE Korean Steakhouse and internationally-renown patisserie Cédric Grolet — will be housed under one prestigious address: COMO Orchard.

To support the Safety and Security Manager with the operations of the department.

Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. Safety and Surveillance Oversight
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of hotel guests, colleagues, and the premises.
  • Supervise static security posts at entry and exit points, monitoring all movement and escalating suspicious activities to the Security Manager.
  • Maintain strict control of access to sensitive areas, including the CCTV room, allowing entry only to authorized personnel.
2. Emergency Response and Crisis Management
  • Act as a key member of the Emergency Response Team, responding to fires, accidents, medical emergencies, and safety concerns.
  • Administer First Aid and C.P.R. as required during incidents.
  • Be fully conversant with all emergency procedures and lead evacuation efforts in compliance with hotel protocols.
3. Incident Reporting and Documentation
  • Ensure all incidents are responded to appropriately and fully recorded in the security logbook.
  • Complete and review all documentation including incident reports, handover notes, and security logs, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
  • Report and investigate accidents, complaints, criminal activity, and crisis situations as per hotel and legal protocols.
4. Shift Supervision and Officer Management
  • Conduct comprehensive briefings and debriefings for Security Officers before and after shifts.
  • Enforce proper shift handover procedures to maintain continuity of information and readiness.
  • Monitor and manage attendance, performance, and discipline within the team, escalating concerns to the Security Manager.
5. Compliance and Internal Control
  • Conduct bag checks for all employees exiting the hotel, ensuring no hotel property is removed without proper authorization.
  • Enforce compliance with internal policies regarding fire safety, health, hygiene, and security.
  • Monitor fire and access control alarm systems, and take corrective action for any observed hazards or malfunctions.
6. Technology and Systems Monitoring
  • Operate and monitor the CCTV system for any breaches in security and respond swiftly as necessary.
  • Ensure familiarity with all security and surveillance equipment, reporting faults that compromise safety or operational integrity.
7. Training and Team Development
  • Assist the Security Manager in training the security team on safety standards, emergency protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a state of operational readiness by mentoring officers and ensuring continual learning within the team.
8. Hotel Operation Support
  • Provide assistance to other hotel departments as directed, especially during peak periods, emergencies, or special events.
  • Cooperate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to meet operational needs while upholding safety and security standards.
  • Act as a liaison to support seamless guest experiences during special functions or high-occupancy periods.
9. Guest Relations and Discretion
  • Respond quickly and professionally to guest concerns related to safety or security.
  • Exercise discretion and tact when handling incidents involving VIPs or sensitive matters.
10. Sustainability and Safety Integration
  • Work with the Facilities and Sustainability teams to integrate eco-friendly measures into security operations (e.g. reduced paper use, efficient patrol routing).
  • Support and contribute to COMO’s sustainability goals by implementing environmentally responsible practices within your roles and departments.
Job Requirements
