Job description

The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for driving online sales growth for the Travel Retail channel. The role covers product assortment planning, sales forecasting, OTB management, stock buying and execution of online campaigns to maximize profitability and customer engagement.

Job Description
Sales Forecasting & Planning
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts for Travel Retail channel which covers catalog sales and online sales.
  • Align forecasts with promotional calendars and business objectives.
  • Be able to monitor and evaluate market trends and demands.
Buying & Inventory Management
  • Plan and execute stock purchases tailored to Travel Retail ecommerce needs.
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets to balance inventory levels (optimal inventory ROI) and cash flow.
  • Monitor sell-through rates and adjust buying strategies by channel.
Channel-Specific Online Sales
  • Drive online sales performance across Travel Retail channels
  • Customize merchandising strategies to suit channel-specific customer profiles.
  • Ensure consistent product representation while adapting campaigns to channel dynamics.
Merchandising & Campaigns
  • Create and manage online campaigns (Brand-led promotions, product launches, bundle offers)
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure campaigns drive traffic, conversion and both top and bottom-line growth.
Performance Monitoring
  • Track KPIs including sales, conversion rate, average order value, and inventory turnover by channel.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve category performance.
Vendor / Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Negotiate with vendors for pricing, promotions, and stock availability.
  • Work closely with channels to review and execute campaign plans to meet organizational goals.
  • Develop forecasts based on sales and business trends.
  • Work with the Inflight channel team to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
Job Requirement
  • Diploma and above in Business, Merchandising, eCommerce or related field. Your educational background will be viewed as a positive addition to your qualifications.
  • 3–5 years of experience in ecommerce merchandising or retail buying (Electronics preferred).
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Sales forecasting
    • Buying and stock management
    • OTB planning and control
    • Online campaign creation and execution
    • Multi-channel ecommerce
    • Analytical skills with Excel, BI tools, and sales dashboards.
    • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
    • Good understanding and advanced approach to the ERP system and database
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Able to work with cross-functional teams to achieve company goals
