Responsibilities
Overview

Responsible for managing Compliance and Privacy activities at both the local and regional levels, ensuring alignment with global standards, local regulations, and internal policies. The role encompasses strategic oversight, operational execution, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration, with responsibilities split approximately equally between local and regional scopes.

Local Responsibilities
  • Partner with local stakeholders and provide both strategic and operational guidance on Compliance and Privacy matters as part of the affiliate leadership team.
  • Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures in accordance with local regulatory requirements, leveraging regional templates where appropriate.
  • Conduct periodic local compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Identify, manage, and elevate potential Compliance or Privacy issues promptly.
  • Lead or support investigations into potential violations of company policies, laws, or regulations.
  • Deliver Compliance and Privacy training programs, monitor completion, and promote awareness of ethical standards, policy requirements, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Stay updated on local laws and regulations that may impact business operations.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct Privacy risk assessments as needed.
  • Support the implementation of regional Compliance and Privacy initiatives within the local affiliate.
Regional Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Compliance and Privacy programs across the Asia region as a key member of the regional team.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Compliance & Privacy Lead, Asia Region, to drive regional initiatives in line with the strategic roadmap.
  • Support privacy assessments and provide timely, practical advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver dedicated Compliance and Privacy management or support for assigned affiliates.
  • Participate in regular regional stakeholder engagements and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Consolidate and report regional risk data received from affiliates, as directed.
  • Conduct and facilitate regional training and awareness sessions when required.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regional laws, regulations, and emerging trends impacting Compliance and Privacy.
  • Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments affecting specific regional initiatives.
Requirements
Must
  • Candidate with at least a degree preferably in law field or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years compliance experience in the life science industry or relevant field.
  • At least 5 years privacy experience.
  • Familiarity with compliance and privacy frameworks and industry practices such as Code of Conduct, ABAC, Data Privacy, Human Rights, TPRM, Sustainability compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience in implementation of compliance initiatives and conducting privacy risk assessments, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable to travel overseas regularly.
