Job Summary
Senior Enterprise Application Specialist or Lead within the DX Strategy & Application Solution Department will lead and manage the development, deployment, and support of large-scale IT systems and digital transformation initiatives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to drive innovative solutions and digital strategies in the chemical tanker business sector, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
Responsibilities
- Business Application Support – Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting for key business applications. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve application-related issues.
- Business Process Management – Analyse and document existing business processes. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance and optimize operational efficiency.
- Business Requirements – Engage with business stakeholders to identify and document digital needs, translating them into actionable project specifications. Ensure project goals align with overall digital transformation objectives.
- Project Management – Manage small, mid or large-scales projects, from initiation to closure. Develop project plans, timeline and budgets, ensuring adherence to deadlines. Track project performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Solution Delivery & Change Management – Design, develop, test, and deploy IT solutions to meet project goals. Ensure smooth implementation, maintenance, and issue resolution while managing stakeholder expectations through effective change management.
- Internal Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain strong partnerships with applications owners and other IT members. Work with internal business stakeholder to identify and prioritise application support needs, issues, and digital transformation projects.
- Vendor Management – Facilitate and maintain relationships with vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in managerial capacity for Leader role and/or minimum 10 years of working experience in similar role within tanker business, specifically chemicals.
- Has hands-on experience providing applications support on Veson IMOS Platform (VIP) or similar type of Commercial Voyage Management systems.
- Has hand-on experience in solution design and project management in complex, multi-site environments. Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Workflow automation or AI/ML technologies (not mandatory), leveraging these tools to enhance business processes and analytics, and ability to incorporate AI/ML methodologies to optimize workflows and decision-making will be a plus.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes pertaining to chemical tanker business, project management concepts, and quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Relevant experience in Chemical Tankers industry is required; 2nd choice will be relevant experience in the Tanker Industry. Will not consider container, logistics or other industries.
