Job summary

A leading engineering company in Singapore is seeking a skilled Structural Designer to develop designs in compliance with Class and Technical specifications. You will lead project drawing deliveries and liaise with both Owners and classification societies. The ideal candidate has a degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in the marine/offshore industry. Familiarity with AutoCAD and solid teamwork skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry structure newbuilding engineering design.
• Familiarity with required software such as AutoCAD and FEMAP.

Job description

This position is for PaxOcean Group, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited.

Working Location: We will be relocating to 5 Jalan Samulun in November 2025 (nearest MRT: Boon Lay)

Position Summary

Independently develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule. Shall take on project lead role.

• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.

• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.

• Perform FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.

• Review project team members drawings or documents prior submission.

• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.

• Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder, etc.).

• Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.

• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry Structure newbuilding engineering design.

• Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline Character and Skill

• Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ AVEVA/ FEMAP

• Good communication and analytical skills

• Good teamworking spirit
