Qualifications
  • Possess a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications or Facilities Management
  • Candidates with minimum 5 years of working experience and leading a team to support operations & maintenance in Data Centre Critical Infrastructure environment are preferred.
  • Good understanding and hands‑on servicing experience in all facilities systems and building maintenance.
  • Possesses Class 3 Driving Lesson
  • Basic networking, broadband access and structured cabling is a plus.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD and able to manage and supervise contractors.
  • Hands on experience in provisioning and configuration of network elements switches, CPE and services will be an added advantage.
  • Self‑motivated with strong drive and willingness to take on challenges.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with ability to interact with people of all levels, especially end customers.
  • Good working attitude with minimum supervision and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Possess initiative and professionalism with the ability to multi‑task.
  • Service‑oriented manner is essential. Must be a team player coupled with strong communication and problem‑solving skills and shall demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Job Description

The primary responsibility for this role is to:

  • Manage new and timely renewals of maintenance contracts for technical sites, which includes:
  • Negotiating with building owners, LOI, Agreement, and all other related administration matters.
  • Conducting regular meetings with respective business units.
  • Monitoring current industry rental rates.
  • Liaising with relevant authorities to ensure leases comply with authorities’ requirements, if any.
  • Liaising with internal business units such as Legal, Finance, Business units, etc for any changes of lease terms, rental and services fees, property tax, etc.
  • Liaising with external tenants on StarHub own premises, including generation of billing invoices to tenants.
  • Ensuring timely handover/takeover of premises to/from building owners.
  • Assisting in day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of all the various facilities systems in StarHub Data Centres and Offices, which shall involve systems such as Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), DC Rectifier System, Static Transfer Switch (STS), Fire Protection System, Building Management System, HT/LT electrical system, all ACMV systems, etc.
  • Ensuring routine maintenance of the facilities systems is carried out according to planned schedule and contracted scope of work.
  • Planning, calling, evaluating tenders, and project managing any expansion projects to cater for users’ requirements.
  • Enforcing a strict security system within the StarHub Data Centre and Office by managing physical security as well as the security system such as the card access system, CCTV surveillance systems, visitors tracking system, etc.
  • Executing customer‑related work orders within the customer’s requested Ready for Service (RFS) date.
  • Maintaining records and updating all M&E, building & schematic drawings of the facilities and security in the building.
  • Conducting regular checks of the premises for potential safety hazards and unsafe conditions, initiating corrective measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, in compliance with prevailing legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing new technologies and processes to improve the efficiency in the Data Centre.
  • Reviewing safe work responsibilities and ensuring strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Being on 24 x 7 standby for fault & maintenance activation.
  • Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities assigned.
