Mission of the Role
The Senior Digital Strategy Consultant – Smart & Cognitive Cities will drive methodologies and frameworks for defining Cognitive Cities strategies and elaborate digital transformation roadmaps for Meinhardt’s clients, will identify and systematically evaluate digital pillars for cognitive city implementation and provide conceptual designs of integrated smart city systems and solutions that enhance urban liveability, resilience, and sustainability across Meinhardt’s urban infrastructure portfolio.
This role requires not only an expertise in methods and frameworks of top management strategy consulting, combined with a sound foundation in digitalization and technology, but also a proven track record of managing complex stakeholder environments in projects with multidisciplinary teams from conception through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clients’ smart & cognitive city roadmaps, incorporating client objectives, regulatory requirements and global best practices.
- Drive design thinking for identifying and describing innovative digital services, applications, and data-driven use-cases relevant to urban / municipal clients’ stakeholder groups in the various fields of Smart Urban Infrastructure (Utilities, Mobility, Logistics, Security, Buildings, Smart Municipal Services)
- Advisory on / co-creating with clients, including creating user stories, evaluating needs, defining requirements, and analyzing and elaborating value-drivers, technical & commercial feasibility
- Developing and evaluating appropriate business models / revenue streams
- Collaborate with clients, government agencies, technology partners, and other stakeholders to identify and detail relevant requirements and boundary conditions for implementation of smart cognitive city solutions and services
- Comprehensively elucidating and validating requirements for digital use-cases, smart city systems or solution-sets and mapping them to relevant offerings commercially available in the market
- Lead to prepare technical proposals to respond to RFIs or RFPs for Master planning and Design projects by authorities or clients in the relevant regional market
- Effectively uses internal and external sources and research to keep up-to-date with cutting edge concepts, frameworks and technologies across digital transformation, AI, digital services, urban planning, and sustainability
- Adhere to compliance with regulatory, environmental, and other relevant industry standards in client projects
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Management, Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable University
- Additional management / business education and qualifications are seen favourable
- You have at least 6-8 years of working experience with physical AND digital systems in smart urban infrastructure or smart utilities, future mobility, or industry 4.0
- Some work experience in a top management consulting firm is highly desirable
- Excellent skills in more than one of following fields: strategy consulting, business modelling, product management, Requirements-engineering, innovation
- You bring strong business analysis experience, including development of functional strategies, functional decomposition of value drivers, requirements capture
- Awareness of cloud / fog, and edge computing technologies as well as IoT Solution / Software architecture frameworks
- You have demonstrated relevant experience in project management, appropriate certification (e.g. PMI, SCRUM) is desirable
- You are comfortable working independently, and at a top-management level
- You can master to present complex technical and operational information comprehensible to expert and non-expert audience
- You are also self-motivated and can demonstrate initiative, assertiveness and a result-oriented approach while being open and collaborative with team members and clients
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Several years of exposure in foreign work environments and in multicultural teams is a must.
