Job description

Scientific Support Specialist (Chemistry Lab)

Duration: 1-Year Contract

Location: Buona Vista

Salary: $2,300

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Office Hours

Responsibilities

• Complete and review work assignments, adjusting workload with the team when needed
• Support mentoring and cross-training of staff using standardised training documentation
• Implement and comply with quality management systems, SOPs, and safety requirements
• Participate in cost, quality, and efficiency improvement initiatives
• Coordinate and ensure timely calibration of laboratory equipment
• Maintain good laboratory housekeeping standards
• Prepare materials for odor evaluations
• Maintain end-to-end (E2E) material management, including ordering, receiving, labelling, sampling, and inventory tracking
• Support shipping of compounded materials with complete and accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Min. Diploma in Applied Chemistry / Perfumery & Cosmetic Sciences / Chemical Engineering
• Min. 1–2 years of relevant experience in a chemistry laboratory (preferred)
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and cGMP guidelines
• Meticulous and systematic, especially for material ordering and inventory management
• Good interpersonal and coordination skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Strong technical and hands-on laboratory skills with good problem-solving ability
