Job summary

A manpower services provider in Singapore is seeking a Science Lab Assistant for a 12-month contract. Responsibilities include preparing and testing laboratory materials, supporting teachers in practical lessons, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and safety. Candidates should have at least GCE O Level with Science passes, and a basic understanding of laboratory procedures. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with no work on weekends or public holidays.

  • Prepare, set up, and test laboratory materials, apparatus, and specimens for science lessons.

Assist teachers in practical lessons, demonstrations, and experiments.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas.

Handle and store chemicals safely, maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper labelling.

Maintain inventory of apparatus, chemicals, and consumables; assist in procurement and stock management.

Support environmental initiatives, including maintaining plants, hydroponic systems, and garden specimens for lessons.

Requirements:

Minimum GCE O Level with Science passes, or NITEC/Higher NITEC in a science-related field.

Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, apparatus, and safety standards (MOE & WSH).

Competent in handling chemicals and simple experimental setups.

Organized, meticulous, and able to maintain accurate records.

Prior experience in school, research, or industrial labs is advantageous.

Responsible, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Medically fit to handle laboratory duties, including lifting equipment.

Duration/ Working hours:

12 months contract (Option to extend another year) 2 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 7:15 am to 4.15 pm, inclusive of half an hour lunch break.
  • Fridays: 7.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m, inclusive of half an hour lunch break.

Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
