Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef – Savory to support the culinary leadership team in delivering high-quality savory dishes. This role requires a strong background in savory cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and team leadership. You will assist in overseeing the day-to-day kitchen activities, ensuring consistent food quality, maintaining hygiene standards, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Sous Chef and Area Chef in all kitchen operations, with a focus on savory production.
  • Supervise and guide line cooks and kitchen assistants during prep and service.
  • Ensure all savory dishes are prepared and presented according to standards and recipes.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen areas.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory, and communicate shortages to the Sous Chef.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of all food items.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new savory menu items and specials.
  • Maintain clear communication between kitchen stations and with the front-of-house team.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and HACCP standards.
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
