Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Purchasing: Lead procurement efforts by visiting and dealing directly with manufacturers and suppliers in key Indian textile hubs, specifically Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai and Kashmir.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Utilize expert negotiation skills to secure high-quality handloom products at competitive prices, ensuring healthy profit margins.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, forecast demand, and manage the end-to-end supply chain to ensure a consistent flow of unique handloom pieces.
  • Sales Excellence: Act as a prudent lead salesperson on the floor, achieving monthly sales targets through proactive customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Customer Experience: Maintain an inviting store atmosphere, greeting all customers with welcoming gestures and providing expert knowledge on handloom heritage.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum10 years of proven experience in the Indian textile industry, specifically in purchasing and retail management.
  • Education: Atleast Bachelors degree in commerce or related field.
  • Regional Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of the markets and specialties in Delhi, Jaipur (Block prints/Gotapatti), Lucknow (Chikan), and Kashmir (Pashmina/Embroidery).
  • Linguistic Proficiency: Must be fluent in English and Hindi. Proficiency in other local Indian languages is essential for effective communication with grassroots manufacturers.
