Job description
Purpose

Comtech is seeking a seasoned Sales Director to accelerate adoption of Comtech Location Based solutions, including Location APIs and Wireless Emergency solutions, by leading strategic sales initiatives with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). The candidate will forge Net New high-value MNO partnerships, and drive revenue growth through consultative, solution-based selling. The Sales Director will be accountable for market expansion in Continental Europe, competitive positioning, and building customer relationships to deliver consistent year-over-year growth in this emerging geography.

Responsibilities
  • Align sales goals with revenue targets, product roadmaps and go-to-market plans. Drive new business through Direct Sales and Strategic alliances, as needed.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual sales strategy and grow adoption of Comtech’s solutions across MNOs. Engage Customers with consultative selling, demonstrating business value, ROI and technical feasibility.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value target accounts, while leveraging market intelligence, industry trends and competitor analysis.
  • Cultivate executive-level relationships within MNOs, Hyperscalers and System Integrators.
  • Work closely with Internal stakeholders – Product Management, Engineering, Legal and Finance to achieve customer and Comtech’s objectives. Collaborate with customers to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, pricing and commercial terms to secure profitable long-term deals.
  • Establish disciplined self-starter approach towards creating and meeting sales performance metrics and quota. Monitor and improve sales pipeline health, conversion rates and forecast accuracy.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Sales Director or similar role in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Proven ability to penetrate new markets and expand share in competitive environments, while meeting / exceeding sales quota year-over-year.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in pricing, creative deal structuring and contract negotiation.
  • Rolodex with Executive level relationships.
  • Ability to influence decision makers in both technical and business roles.
  • Natural leadership skills with the ability to lead in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong diplomacy and excellent presentation, storytelling and proposal-writing skills with the ability to present and communicate effectively in front of leadership, board members, owners, and customers.
  • Familiarity of Network APIs, related use cases and the impact on enterprise business. Understanding of cloud-native architectures, and SaaS business models.
  • Skilled at conducting market research, gathering insights, and creating business cases.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills for high-value, long-cycle deals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to improve business processes and practices to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • KPI driven mindset with a focus on net-new customer growth, revenue growth, margin optimization and ROI delivery.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business. MBA preferred.
