About the role

This exciting opportunity as a Safety Specialist offers the chance to play a key role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of workers at a leading construction company. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety procedures and practices across construction sites in the Central Region. This full-time position provides the opportunity to contribute to a reputable MNC in construction sector, offering travelling opportunities to monitor sites overseas.

What you'll be doing

1. Conducting risk assessments and developing comprehensive safety plans for construction projects
2. Providing safety training and coaching to site teams to promote a strong safety culture
3. Monitoring and reporting on safety KPIs to identify areas for improvement
4. Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions
5. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
6. Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to address safety concerns
7. Maintaining detailed safety documentation and records

What we're looking for

1. Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field
2. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a safety specialist / EHS in the construction industry
3. Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organisation
5. Ability to think critically, identify risks, and implement appropriate control measures
6. Proficient in using safety management software and data analysis tools
7. Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
