Job summary

A leading energy company in Singapore is seeking a Risk Management professional to manage and oversee risk identification and mitigation strategies across FPSO design projects. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, a strong understanding of FPSO design, and excellent stakeholder management skills. This role offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to global execution centers.

Job description
Role Purpose

Manage and oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across all interface points within the FPSO design project. Ensure risks related to multi-disciplinary coordination and cross-location execution are proactively managed to safeguard project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface Risk Management Develop and maintain a risk management framework specific to interface coordination activities.
    Identify risks arising from design interfaces between disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural) and external stakeholders.
  • Risk Analysis & Mitigation Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for interface-related issues.
    Define mitigation strategies and contingency plans for high-risk interface areas.
    Track and monitor implementation of mitigation actions.
  • Coordination & Communication Facilitate risk workshops with interface managers and discipline leads.
    Ensure risk information is communicated effectively across departments and to project leadership.
  • Reporting & Compliance Maintain an updated risk register for interface coordination.
    Prepare periodic risk reports for project management and client.
    Ensure compliance with ISO 31000 and project-specific risk protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in risk management within oil & gas or offshore projects.
  • Strong understanding of FPSO design processes and interface complexities.
  • Proficiency in risk analysis tools (Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, or equivalent).
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

  • FPSO design involves multiple engineering disciplines and global execution centers (Singapore, China, Qatar).
  • High exposure to schedule, cost, and technical risks due to complex interfaces.
