Job Description

We are seeking a Relationship Manager to manage and develop client relationships, with a focus on credit-related activities, client engagement, and regulatory compliance. The role involves close coordination with internal stakeholders to support credit approvals, portfolio management, and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective corporate clients, including ongoing engagement for credit facilities, loan renewals, and new financing transactions.
  • Prepare credit reviews, credit approval requests, and credit memorandums for new and existing credit facilities, ensuring timely submission to the Credit Committee.
  • Coordinate with borrowers and head office to obtain financial and non-financial information required for credit approval, renewal, and credit monitoring.
  • Conduct regular client interviews and meetings (face-to-face or via video conferencing) to obtain business updates, assess credit risk, and support loan renewals and new credit applications. Prepare call reports after meeting with clients.
  • Provide interpretation and translation support between Japanese and English for client engagements and business documentation, where required for work purposes.
  • Monitor assigned portfolio performance and support ongoing credit and risk management activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain proper client records and credit files in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in reviewing and improving departmental workflows and processes.
  • Perform Anti-Money Laundering (AML), KYC, and related compliance checks in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in relationship management in corporate banking.
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese, both written and spoken, to support business communication with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of corporate banking products, credit assessment, and risk management principles.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and client management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
