Role Summary and Impact

The Regional Advocacy Lead will lead the strategic vision and execution for influence, advocacy, and affiliate marketing. This role requires a forward-thinking approach to Advocacy and Influence strategy with strong leadership capabilities to drive centralization while respecting local market nuances.

The Client

This is a regional role leading the transformation/ influence mandate for a large multinational for APAC region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic vision for influence, advocacy, and affiliate marketing across the APAC region
  • Develop frameworks to effectively integrate other voices in the marketing mix, managing relationships, briefing processes, branding guidelines, and authenticity standards
  • Create balanced strategies that leverage regional/centralized approaches while addressing local market needs and cultural nuances
  • Collaborate with the cross-function teams to lead centralization initiatives and implement a new operating model that enables end-to-end operations for both WPP and non-WPP markets
  • Develop truly integrated strategies that combine media, content, and through-the-funnel solutions
  • Leverage the broader WPP network to bring global learnings and best practices to the APAC region
Operational Leadership
  • Provide strong team leadership, ensuring close collaboration between in-market WPP teams and the regional client team
  • Identify technological opportunities to drive scale and operational efficiencies
  • Develop scalable and creative solutions by leveraging data and translating insights into actionable plans
  • Establish a data-driven model with clearly defined and measurable results
  • Scale knowledge and expertise of the APAC region covering Southeast Asia, South Asia, Australia and other markets.
  • Co-develop the future role of influence in the total marketing mix and business strategy, balancing creative approaches with data-driven decision making
  • Manage a regional Centre of Excellence for influencer marketing, focused on developing strategy, frameworks & cross market alignment
  • Partner with local market teams, who will focus on culturally nuanced execution and market specific activations
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between the Centre of Excellence and in-market teams to balance regional consistency with local relevance
Required Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of brand marketing experience, including at least 7 years in advocacy, influence, or affiliate marketing, with demonstrated regional leadership.
  • Proven track record in influence marketing, advocacy programs, and affiliate strategies
  • Experience leading centralization initiatives and developing new operating models
  • Strong understanding of the APAC region
  • Demonstrated ability to balance regional strategies with local market execution
  • Experience integrating media, content, and performance marketing approaches
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior client relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with beauty or FMCG brands
  • Knowledge of the APAC region's media and influence landscape
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms and data analytics tools
  • Track record of successful change management in complex organizational structures
  • Experience working in a matrix organization spanning multiple markets
  • Location: Flexible within APAC region (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.)
  • Travel Requirements: 15-20% regional travel required across APAC markets
