Job summary

A construction firm located in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the management of projects from initial tendering to final account statement. The ideal candidate will manage procurement, costs, claims, and sub-contractors for lift installations and modernization projects. Candidates should have a degree in Quantity Surveying, 2-5 years of experience in QS works, and knowledge of Auto-Cad. Additional languages such as Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in QS works, preferably within the MEP or vertical transportation sector.
  • Familiarity with SIA or PSSCOC contract forms.
  • Knowledge of Auto-Cad software, able to read and draw.

Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents and prepare cost estimation for purchases as per project specifications.
  • Monitor project costing and manage variations.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims to customers.

Job description

The QS will be responsible for the overall projects- from initial tendering to final account statement. You will manage material procurement, material and labour costs and progress claims for all new lift installations and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tendering stage: Review tender documents, prepare cost estimation for local, overseas purchase and field cost as per project specifications.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BQ). Analyse tender documents and collect the required documents, review and submit as per project requirement.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costing, manage variations, and identify potential cost savings.
  • Claims Management: Prepare and submit progress claims to customers. Evaluate sub-contractor payment claims, if any.
  • Sub-contractor Management: Review sub-contractor quotation. Award sub-contracts, manage sub-contractor’s claims.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Building/Construction Management.
  • 2–5 years of experience in QS works, preferably within the MEP or vertical transportation sector.
  • Familiarity with SIA or PSSCOC contract forms.
  • Knowledge of Auto-Cad software. Able to read and draw.
Preferred
  • Experience in lift industry, vertical mobility solutions, building automation, or mechanical or electrical equipment sales.
  • Familiar with BCA codes, EN81, or ISO elevatorstandards.
  • Existing network of contacts in the property development, architectural, or facility management sectors.

Fluency in English (additional languages -Mandarin, Thai, or Bahasa Indonesia are a PLUS)
