Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage tender processes and post-contract administration, ensuring accurate cost control and timely award of contracts. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent and should be meticulous, possess good communication skills, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. This role requires occasional travel to various project sites.

RE-CONTRACT TENDER
  1. Source for tender of notice and attend site show round.
  2. Know the nature of tender and allocation of work before collecting of tender documents.
  3. Assist in taking off quantities and Bills of Quantities.
  4. Check quotation received according to specification requirement.
  5. Prepare cost comparison to management and submit for approval.
  6. Assist in the identification and engagement of good subcontractors / suppliers.
  7. Compilation of suppliers and subcontractors list with grading.
  8. Discuss with the management for the submission of tender at a date of fixed by the contracts manager / managing director before the closing date of tender (i.e. 4 days prior to tender closing date).
POST-CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
  1. Verify and source for sub-contractors / suppliers and materials.
  2. Prepare letter of award.
  3. Attend site meeting (if required).
  4. Prepare monthly project progress claim.
  5. Check with site personnel and prepare variation order claim on monthly basis.
  6. Prepare and verify sub-contractors / suppliers progress claim.
  7. Attend to dispute arises due to claim & variation order on monthly basis.
  8. Ensure subcontractors & suppliers are awarded timely without jeopardizing the progress of work.
  9. Costs control between budget & expenditure.
  10. Control of overall project costs to ensure expenditure is 10% below budget.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  2. Entry level candidates are welcomed to apply.

  4. Able to work both independently and as a team.
  5. Willing to travel to various project site for site meeting as and when required.
