A leading retail company in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Manager for Projects & Store Design. The role involves managing store projects from conception to completion, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations and brand standards. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 5-8 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD. This position is integral to delivering high-quality store designs that align with business objectives.
The Projects & Store Design, Assistant Manager is responsible for end-to-end project management, from business case development to completion and handover. The Projects & Store Design, Assistant Manager will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with business objectives and brand standards, delivered on time and within budget, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Lead renovation and new store projects end-to-end, from business case to completion and handover.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather requirements and prepare scope, budgets, timelines, and milestones.
Review and approve all drawings, reports, documents, and materials submitted by contractors.
Manage on-site activities and conduct weekly site meetings with vendors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with Electrical & CP codes, government regulations, safety, and quality standards.
Oversee vendor and contractor performance to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.
Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and variances. Maintain accurate and coordinated project documentation and data.
Implement change management processes, assess change requests, recommend actions, obtain approvals, and issue change orders as required.
Conduct RFQs and tenders (with guidance provided) to procure services, materials, and equipment for store projects.
Identify and evaluate external project delivery resources, lead bid analysis and vendor interviews, and make recommendations to the department manager.
Generate M&E Bill of Quantities, schematic layouts, and cost estimates for business case preparation.
Track project performance against goals, approved budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with business expectations.
Draft and develop practical, aesthetic store layouts aligned with business goals
Create detailed design drawings for tender, construction, and stakeholder use.
Develop interior concepts, mood boards, and 3D renderings to communicate design intent.
Design custom fixtures or equipment for rollout initiatives.
Source materials and finishes in line with brand and budget.
Ensure design intent is executed through close coordination with site teams.
Align with stakeholders to value-engineer solutions while maintaining customer experience.
Ensure project documentation is accurate, and project data is well maintained.
Support cost optimization efforts without compromising operational effectiveness.
Any other adhoc tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field.
5 – 8 years of experience in project management, store design or similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
Must have prior experience using AutoCAD software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with workplace safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong ability to multitask and manage various projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
