Job summary

A social service agency in Singapore is looking for a Senior Programme Executive focused on child-centred mentoring. Senior Programme Executive (child-centred mentoring)

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Be an advocate for child-centred mentoring

  • Review and enhance training and development of volunteer mentors

  • Develop a volunteer leadership framework

  • Recruit, screen, select, train, match and support volunteer mentors to provide mentoring support to children, and light-touch support to parents as a family friend

  • Outreach to ComLink+ families, schools, and existing Life Community programmes

  • Co-develop weekly programme curriculum to support mentors in building relationships and enabling positive learning experiences for children aged 6 to 13, based on their assessed needs

  • Ensure the smooth running of mentoring sessions, including facilitation of group sessions

  • Plan and organise half-yearly outings for family bonding

  • Schedule home visits with children and their caregivers when necessary, including assessing their needs and strengths, and providing relevant support

  • Work with impact assessment partner to evaluate programme outcomes

  • Maintain administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate mentor-mentee records, managing databases and handling relevant correspondence

Requirements – Experience & Competencies:

  • Preferably possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Education, Early Childhood, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the social service or education sector or grassroots/community work

  • Passion for children and families from vulnerable backgrounds

  • Strong team player, with good facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills

  • Able to work on selected evenings and weekends (equivalent time-off will be granted)
