Job description

We’re looking for a creative and technically-minded Product Designer to conceptualize, prototype, and develop new bottle-related products, accessories, and packaging systems that enhance the Owala experience across Asia.

You’ll work at the intersection of industrial design, materials engineering, and consumer experience — from re-imagining how users carry, clean, and personalize their bottles, to designing new forms and mechanisms that extend into hydration, lifestyle, and wellness.

1. Product & Accessory Design
  • Design new bottles, lids, and accessories (e.g., silicone boots, clips, holders, straw systems, cleaning tools, modular attachments).
  • Create digital 3D models, sketches, and prototypes ready for manufacturing discussions.
  • Explore new ergonomic, aesthetic, and functional possibilities within the Owala / Unbottled ecosystem.
  • Develop color, material, and finish (CMF) directions aligned with brand identity.
2. Prototyping & Development
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and mold suppliers to validate feasibility, cost, and material choices (e.g., stainless steel, Tritan, food‑grade silicone).
  • Produce technical drawings and tolerance specs for mass production.
  • Participate in iterative testing for durability, usability, and thermal performance.
3. Brand Integration & User Experience
  • Translate the design language into every product — minimalist, experiential, and emotionally resonant.
  • Conduct user feedback sessions and usability testing to inform design iterations.
  • Work closely with marketing and retail teams to ensure design coherence across packaging, retail displays, and digital experiences.
4. Sustainability & Innovation
  • Research emerging eco‑materials and circular design practices (e.g., recycled steel, bioplastics).
  • Propose new modular systems that allow product longevity, repair, or customization.
  • Contribute ideas for new product categories beyond bottles (e.g., tumblers, lifestyle hydration tools).
  • Experience designing for retail or DTC brands with strong visual storytelling.
  • Interest in fitness, wellness, or sustainable lifestyle products.
  • Hands‑on approach—comfortable iterating prototypes, 3D printing, or testing materials.
  • Familiar with Asia‑based manufacturing workflows and supplier communication.
  • Strong eye for color, finish, and tactile experience.
