Responsibilities for procurement clerk
- Compare contractor insurance certificates against contract requirements and contact insurance agents to request certificate changes if necessary.
- Input data from contracts and certificates of insurance to the Contractor Data Management System (CDMS).
- Enroll contractor companies in the CICI drug and alcohol testing consortium.
- Maintain open invoices and paid bills, including documentation and support (invoices, receipts, vouchers, purchase orders, check copies, and correspondence) for each transaction.
- Open, date stamp, and distribute all vendor incoming mail.
- Match incoming vendor invoices with purchase orders (excluding tax payments).
- Code all accounts payable vouchers according to accounting policies.
- Schedule payments, and update payment approval statuses when necessary.
- Prepare and distribute check payments as appropriate.
- Prepare and record manual checks as requested via data entry.
Qualifications for procurement clerk
- Review and research team invoice inquiries.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Strong customer service skills and professionalism when dealing with internal and external customers.
- Typing, word processing, proofreading, and data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to being a positive and professional team member.
- Five or more years of related experience; experience in the food industry is a plus.
