We are seeking like-minded, driven and passionate leaders who are eager to drive change and make an impact in the lives of the young children! As Principal, your role encompasses, but not limited to managing all aspects of the preschool and its daily programme and services, maintaining compliances with the school, local regulations and licensing requirements, leading in strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and care for young children. Candidates who are currently a Vice-Principal or hold some leadership roles in the preschool are welcome to apply too.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure the daily operations in the school are in order and in compliance with ECDA / NEA licensing and other government regulatory requirements / accreditation standards, where applicable
- Coach and mentor educators / non-teaching staff to help them improve on their overall performance standards, skills and competencies
- Conduct regular reviews with the educators / non-teaching staff on their job performance and overall contribution (staff appraisal & evaluation) leading to their growth and successes
- Oversee and support educators in curriculum planning and professional development
- Work alongside educators to guide, monitor, assess and document the evaluation and assessment of students' learning and development (lesson planning & evaluation, designing learning spaces, observing student and portfolio design etc)
- Establish a professional partnership and active communication with family members to ensure all matters, concerns, issues and feedback are addressed appropriately and on a timely basis
- Manage and optimize budget & expenditures for school supplies, groceries and events management
- Advocate for the best practices for maintaining the safety, health, nutritional and hygiene standards and procedures in the school and beyond
- Prepare monthly/termly enrolment & staffing reports for the senior management
- Manage staff strength and manpower related matters
- Develop a positive, reflective and cohesive culture within the team
- Uphold professionalism at all times
- Align the team with the company's vision, mission and core values
Requirements
- Obtained at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education – Leadership, ADECL or its equivalent. Having a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field is highly valued
- Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education (ECE), with experience in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of child development theories, child safety, and best early childhood practices
- Familiar with licensing and accreditation standards, regulations, and compliance requirements is highly valued
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the charisma and ability to lead, inspire and motivate your team
- Demonstrate the capabilities to function in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, resolve challenges efficiently, and be able to navigate through ambiguity
- Has the passion and commitment in providing high-quality education and care to all students, regards the child as the priority for all consideration
