The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Pastor, Connect Pillar & Programme Executive (Connect), Connect Group Ministry committee and volunteers in the coordination & planning of the events, programmes, activities in the Connect Group ministry as well as relationally journey alongside and shepherd the CGM leaders by providing pastoral care, spiritual & ministry leadership, training and discipleship.
This role will require a willingness to work on non-traditional schedules which includes evenings, weekends, and occasional public holidays, with the flexibility to get time off on a weekday.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Connect Pillar, Pastor in overseeing, leading, and growing the Connect Group Ministry
- Plan ministry events, activities, programmes, and campaigns
- Ensure the CGM committee’s plans and direction are aligned with the church’s vision and direction
- Serve as a deputy Zone Leader and/or Cluster Leader which includes visitation to Cluster Leaders/Connect Group Leaders/Connect Groups and providing pastoral/spiritual care and development to Cluster Leaders and Connect Group Leaders
- Develop and implement Connect Group Ministry structure towards more effective pastoral care and community life within the Connect Groups
- Recommend and develop curriculum for Connect Groups
- Assist in the formation of new Connect Groups and placement of new/existing members in Connect Groups
- Collaborate with other ministries in Connect Group Ministry objectives
- Execute all programmes and activities with sound budgeting and financial management, and in compliance with church policies and guidelines
- Represent the pastors’ office in the absence of the Connect pastor, especially during Connect Group Committee and volunteer meetings
- Carry out any other roles, responsibilities, duty as assigned by the church
Others
- Serve as a Service Pastoral Team Staff during weekend church services and other church events as rostered
- Participate and attend church leadership and staff meetings and ministry-related meeting
Qualifications
- Qualifications with relevant experience of at least 2 years in the area of Christian discipleship/Connect Group ministry; with theological qualifications preferred. Pastoral education qualifications and/or hands-on ministry experience will be a plus
Relevant experience and skillsets
- Prior experience working in a church or Christian organisation will be preferred
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (being able to communicate and collaborate effectively with various levels of staff and lay congregants)
