Job summary

A leading global shipping and logistics company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operations Executive for its Shipping team. The successful candidate will handle vessel services, coordinate port calls, and ensure all documentation is managed correctly. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and good knowledge of Singapore ports and maritime regulations. This role requires the ability to work long and irregular hours.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferably with prior experiences in attending to ships at shipyards.
  • Possess good working knowledge of Singapore ports and Maritime regulations.
  • Basic knowledge in Agency Shipping Operations Procedure.
  • Able to work long and/or irregular hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical attendance to vessels and ensure all requirements are executed properly and timely.
  • Liaise and coordinate port calls with key stakeholders.
  • Process all necessary formalities and declarations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all information and correspondence are properly maintained.
  • Deliver work files on time to Disbursement Team for invoicing.

Overview

GAC Singapore is part of the GAC Group, the world’s leading provider of shipping, logistics and marine services with over 300 offices worldwide. As part of their global expansion, we are looking for a qualified Operations Executive for the Shipping team based in Singapore.

Operations Executive, Shipping (Boarding Officer)

The candidate is responsible to execute shipping agency services related to vessels calling at Singapore terminals, berths, or territorial waters on behalf of our principals.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide physical attendance to vessels and ensure all requirements are executed properly and timely.
  2. Liaise and coordinate port calls with key stakeholders like Supervisors, Managers, Masters, Owners and Owners’ representatives, charterers, local authorities, and port vendors.
  3. Process all necessary formalities and declarations in a timely manner to ensure smooth entry and departure of vessels assigned and execute vessel related documentation including any required reporting to government agencies.
  4. Ensure all information, communication and correspondences relating to port calls are properly maintained in work files and archived into our data system.
  5. Ensure work files are duly completed and be delivered on time to Disbursement Team for necessary invoicing.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferably with prior experiences in attending to ships at shipyards.
  • Possess good working knowledge of Singapore ports and Maritime regulations.
  • Must have basic knowledge in Agency Shipping Operations Procedure.
  • Independent and able to work well in a team where necessary.
  • Display positive attitude and possess high integrity.
  • Able to work long and/or irregular hours.
