Job summary

A leading sourcing firm in Singapore is seeking a Strategic Sourcing / Purchasing Executive to manage sourcing activities and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing, preferably in a global or semiconductor environment. You will negotiate prices, manage orders, and collaborate with various teams to ensure material availability. Job description

The Strategic Sourcing / Purchasing Executive is responsible for handling end-to-end sourcing activities, supplier management, and purchasing operations. This role involves price negotiation, evaluation of quotations, coordination with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services to support ongoing operations and new product introductions (NPIs).

Key Responsibilities

• Request, analyse, and negotiate supplier quotations based on cost, lead time, and total cost.
• Manage purchasing for NPIs and place orders based on ERP (e.g., SAP) demand.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely material and service availability.
• Work with suppliers on corrective actions, on-time delivery performance and alternative sourcing when needed.
• Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, and global sourcing teams.
• Support engineering change requests and NPI‑related material planning.
• Prepare data analysis and reports for sourcing strategies and planning.
• Verify invoices with price deviations and maintain accurate vendor data and purchasing records.
• Support supplier evaluations and contract implementation.

Requirements

• Degree in any discipline; Mechanical Engineering background is an advantage.
• At least 3 years’ experience in sourcing or purchasing, preferably in a global environment.
• Experience working in semiconductor field or relevant manufacturing field will be a plus.
• Experience in supplier qualification, auditing, and corrective actions.
• Skilled in SAP / R3 or similar ERP systems and MS Office applications.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively.
