Job summary

A leading oil trading company in Singapore seeks an experienced oil trader to manage trades and execute strategies that align with corporate objectives. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree, at least 10 years of experience in oil trading, and fluency in both English and Japanese. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills are essential. This role involves fostering customer relationships and managing market risks in an international trading environment.

Job Description

Day to day activities of oil trading, blending, storage and related works.

Work with the responsible slate lead to execute ENEOS system trades as well as EASIA independent trades.

ENEOS : Japan HQ entity with 9 refineries + 2 chemical plants, EASIA : 100% ENEOS subsidiary in Singapore.

Maximize General Interest in ENEOS Group as the first priority.

Find the trading opportunities and execute transactions of physical cargoes within the credit and exposure limits with the registered counterparties.

Trade on derivatives and futures to hedge physical position.

Devise hedging plan and execute hedges to manage price risk exposure.

Maintain and develop key customers in Oil industry in the region and beyond.

Structure new trading scheme independently within the company policy.

Liaise with and make constructive suggestions to Headquarters (ENEOS Corporation in Japan) and other overseas trading offices (Houston, London, Abu Dhabi) to improve our trading activities within the company policy.

Work closely with operations to manage trading/operation(incl. shipping) matters.

Conduct business PDCA (monthly buy/sell/inventory planning, lookback, and stewardship).

Routine departmental and interdepartmental reporting as required.

If assigned, also coordinate the day-to-day operational activities with suppliers, internal and external customers and team members to ensure the smooth delivery of oil products such as screening performing vessels, appointing surveyor and superintendent, handling invoices etc.

Carry out other duties assigned by Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director and General Manager as and when necessary.

Job Requirements

Bachelor or Master degree is preferable.

At least 10 years of relevant experience in oil trading / oil and gas industries.

At least 2 years’ experience of each crude oil and biofuel materials trading.

Have knowledge of oil supply chain in Japan.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)

Ability to communicate in fluent English to communicate with colleague and clients well.

Ability to speak and write in fluent Japanese language is required to communicate with and to report to headquarter managements and employees in Japan who cannot speak and write in English well.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a strategic mind.

Meticulous with good communication and presentation skill.

An effective team player who is innovative and forward thinking.
