Job Overview

We’re currently looking for a high calibre professional to join our team as Vice President, Lead Counsel, Markets Fixed Income Asia Legal – Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Lead Counsel 2 – Product – C13) based in Singapore.

Day‑to‑day functions involve transactional and advisory work, documentation, business development, and participation in industry‑based initiatives. The role covers all requirements of the team, providing advice on legal and regulatory matters, litigation management and regulatory / policy interpretation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the businesses around product structuring for large episodic trades and advising on flow trades.
  • Advise on and manage multi‑jurisdictional regulatory requirements and client document negotiations.
  • Manage and prioritise key jurisdictions for the business.
  • Manage and prioritise key clients with multiple Citi touch points; crypto‑currency and digital‑related matters.
  • Bank programmes and structures incorporating environmental sustainability elements.
  • Product development and structures addressing capital adequacy and risk‑weighted asset requirements.
  • Actively fulfil the One‑Citi ethos by identifying and overcoming boundaries and working collaboratively with other Citi members.
Qualifications
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Relevant experience in a law firm or financial institution.
  • Rates, Markets Treasury, Foreign Exchange and Credit Derivatives and financial regulatory experience – familiarity with Singapore, Hong Kong, China and/or India regulatory requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage with and manage senior business management representatives.
  • Strong team player, confident, possesses initiative, and the ability to prioritise, multi‑task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to assess issues and risks against the wider regulatory and compliance framework that Citi operates within.
  • Ability to work independently and interact with people at all levels across regions.
  • Education level: LLB or JD.
