Job summary

Job description

Shanghai-based Greybox Coffee is a specialty coffee chain with 4 outlets in Singapore. Founded in 2016, the specialty coffee chain operates 23 stores across China. Greybox Coffee first announced plans to launch overseas in 2019 and hence since amassed a loyal following with our diverse menu designed to satisfy every coffee craving. Our specialty coffee menu includes single origin pour-overs from Ethiopia, Jamaica and Colombia, as well as a premium Geisha blend from Panama.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  1. Prepare various types of coffee and non-coffee beverages according to recipes and tailor to customer preferences, such as adjusting sweetness levels, milk alternatives, and flavourings
  2. Provide friendly, efficient and personalised service to customers
  3. Operate and maintain cleanliness and functionality of coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other tools
  4. Uphold high standards of quality in every aspect of coffee preparation, including coffee bean selection, grinding, tamping, and extraction
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee bar area, including workstations, serving counters, and dining areas
  6. Adhere to food safety and hygiene set by the government and regulators
  7. Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock
  8. Collaborate with other team members, including fellow baristas, kitchen staff, and management on operations
  9. Recommend and upsell of additional menu items, such as pastries, snacks, or merchandise
  10. Stay informed about coffee industry trends, new brewing techniques, and specialty coffee varieties
  11. Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve coffee knowledge and skills
