Job Summary

The IT Specialist will be the standalone technology lead supporting a licensed fund management company. This role is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day technology operations, including user support, endpoint and system administration, network stability, cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, backups and recovery, and managed-service-provider (MSP) oversight. The position ensures that all IT services remain stable, secure, and audit-ready, with clear documentation of systems, risks, and controls. The IT Specialist will communicate key technology matters and risk priorities directly to management and maintain a disciplined, transparent change process.

Prior experience in financial services is preferred. Exposure to data or AI governance frameworks would be advantageous.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT matters, both in-office and remote.
  • Ensure all endpoints (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) and core business applications are properly configured, updated, and supported.
  • Oversee the firm’s network infrastructure and systems, maintaining reliable and responsive services.
  • Monitor both on-premise and cloud environments, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and maintain secure, stable connectivity with key external platforms such as trading systems, market data, and research applications.
  • Administer and periodically review user access controls and permissions in accordance with company policy.
  • Lead incident response activities and regular drills; document root causes, lessons learned, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and periodically test backup and disaster-recovery procedures, ensuring business continuity readiness.
  • Act as the day-to-day relationship owner for the MSP, including monitoring service levels, reviewing reports, managing follow-up actions, and tracking costs.
  • Conduct quarterly service reviews with the MSP covering incidents, updates, backups, and improvement actions.
  • Maintain and periodically update IT policies and documentation, including access management, patching, incident response, continuity, and data-handling procedures, and ensure compliance firm-wide.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant in‑house IT experience, supporting business users and maintaining core systems, preferably within financial services.

  • Highly organized, reliable, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese to communicate effectively with regional offices.
