Overall Purpose of the Role

  • We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Singapore office. This individual will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our global infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our systems and networks. The role requires a mix of deep technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and ongoing maintenance for network switches and routers across the Asia region.
  • Support and manage the global VMware virtualized infrastructure.
  • Oversee global backup and monitoring systems, addressing issues and alerts in a timely and prioritized manner.
  • Maintain and support voice infrastructure within the Asia region, including Cisco Unified Communications.
  • Act as a third-line support resource for both Windows desktop and server environments, delivering prompt and professional resolution to user requests.
  • Support all facets of IT infrastructure and contribute to end-user support when required.
  • Ensure all technical processes, procedures, and configurations are accurately documented and kept up to date.
  • Adhere to all company and team policies, standards, and procedures consistently.
  • Escalate relevant issues, concerns, or incidents to the line manager, including policy breaches and near misses.
  • Take an active role in business continuity planning and testing activities.
  • Champion cybersecurity by upholding the firm’s standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple ongoing tasks effectively.
  • Lead and take ownership of complex infrastructure projects, including large-scale deployments of hardware and software.
  • Research and propose solutions to technical problems and share knowledge with the broader team.
  • Support the Technology Infrastructure Manager with ad hoc responsibilities and initiatives.
  • Be available and contactable for after-hours support when required.
  • Act as a third-line support resource for both Windows desktop and server environments, delivering prompt and professional resolution to user requests.
  • Support all facets of IT infrastructure and contribute to end-user support when required.
  • Provide ad hoc desktop support as needed, including desk moves, onboarding of new joiners, and other hands-on tasks within the office environment.
  • Ensure all technical processes, procedures, and configurations are accurately documented and kept up to date.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (minimum 2:1 classification).
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, VMware, or Microsoft credentials are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar infrastructure role, ideally within an investment management or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical projects in high-pressure, deadline-driven contexts.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing infrastructure operations at an enterprise level.

Skills

Required:

  • Proficient in Cisco Unified Communications, including Expressway and Jabber.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco switching and routing (CCNA level or higher).
  • Skilled in writing and using PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware administration and enterprise storage systems.
  • Familiar with Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus for monitoring infrastructure.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Cisco AMP for endpoint protection.
  • Experience with Veeam backup solutions and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Nimble Storage systems.
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker.
