Overview

IT Business Engagement Lead. Located in Singapore, SG. Role reports to the Head of IT Business Engagement (Commercial, Line, Trade & Network Management – APAC) and serves as the key liaison between IT and business units. Your main responsibilities include identifying business needs, proposing IT solutions, and supporting their implementation and ongoing enhancements. As a subject matter expert in shipping and functional domains, you'll translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across IT engagement, solution delivery, PMO, and HO governance teams to ensure alignment between IT initiatives and business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders, translating business needs into IT initiatives that create value.
  • Develop deep understanding of business processes to identify where technology can drive improvements and align with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, evaluate, and prioritize IT projects based on impact, feasibility, and strategic relevance.
  • Conduct workshops and meetings to gather feedback, ensure alignment, and document business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Oversee the IT project portfolio, balancing risk, ROI, and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities to adopt or adapt global/regional solutions for local business use.
  • Partner with delivery teams to conceptualize and implement solutions that meet business needs; support SIT and coordinate UAT.
  • Lead review sessions for IT project approvals; engage in data, cybersecurity, and architecture governance forums.
  • Maintain proactive communication and regular status updates with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to IT governance processes to ensure alignment between IT investments and business strategy.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s or MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years in IT business engagement or business partner roles, ideally in large organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic goals into IT solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
  • Strong project management abilities; capable of handling multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience in the shipping/logistics industry is advantageous.
