The mandate of the team is to (1) support the development of the company’s core business lines in mining and trading, (2) facilitate the diversification into new business segments (e.g. decarbonisation), and to (3) explore, evaluate and execute suitable investment opportunities to promote organisational growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research and analytical deep-dives to assess and identify suitable and strategic business opportunities in focus sectors for exploration, development and potential investment
  • Support the investment due diligence process including conducting commercial, financial, operational and regulatory review and analysis to promote business decision-making
  • Assist and contribute to the origination, execution and management of cross-border projects within the organisation’s focus areas
  • Create marketing decks, business proposals and project briefs to support business development initiatives
  • Develop detailed and accurate financial models to facilitate deal structuring
  • Prepare and present required deliverables to key internal and external stakeholders for buy-in and reporting
  • Liaise and collaborate with potential partners and clients to secure, implement and manage projects
  • Participate in key business initiatives including supporting the exploration, evaluation and development of new strategic ventures
  • Fulfil all other assigned duties in line with the business unit’s priorities and goals
Requirements
  • Recognised Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a business and/or technical discipline
  • At least 2 to 4 years of related work experience and industry network
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must (Ability to write and/or speak in French is a bonus)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Word (Demonstrated expertise in creating marketing decks and financial models is required)
  • Nimble and competent with the ability to prioritise and simultaneously manage a variety of tasks, projects and work activities
  • Articulate with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Independent and pro-active self-starter with a positive working attitude
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced working environment and team
