Job description

• Works with Assistant Housekeeping Manager to ensure department costs and expenses are within the budget.

People:

• Supervise the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures related to:

  • Cleaning service
Guest Experience:

• Maintain thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems.

• Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements.

• Ensure timely processing and delivery of guest valet services.

• Coordinate special projects (e.g., site rooms, vermin control, window and carpet cleaning, room inventories).

• Manage lost property for the hotel.

• Handle all special requests made by guests.

• Have complete knowledge of room types, layouts, and facilities.

• Perform room audits and ensure monthly IHG Way of Clean audits are conducted, with housekeeping employees achieving set targets.

• Manage room releases and room status updates.

People:

• Recommend changes to standards and identify training needs on an ongoing basis.

• Resolve employee grievances.

• Ensure consistency within the department.

• Collaborate with supervisors and Human Resources on manpower planning and management.

• Open and close shifts, ensuring effective handovers.

• Distribute and collect master keys.

• Manage all incoming and outgoing calls.

Guest Experience:

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of room types, layouts, and facilities.

• Conduct room audits and ensure monthly compliance with IHG Way of Clean standards, with targets met by housekeeping staff.

• Manage room releases and status updates.

Responsible Business:

• Oversee storage areas.

• Conduct stock takes as required.

• Lead shift briefings to communicate hotel activities and operational needs.

What we need from you

Supervise the housekeeping team in Singapore’s leading select service hotel. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of 442 guest rooms, the Great Room dining space, rooftop swimming pool, fitness facilities, and onsite DIY laundry.

  • High School diploma or Hotel Management qualification, with at least 2 years’ housekeeping experience in a similar-sized hotel, including supervisory experience or training.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with good communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
