  • Set and execute engineering strategy, budgets, and governance frameworks covering maintenance, repair, overhaul, and lifecycle asset management
  • Ensure high standards of safety, reliability, cost control, and regulatory compliance across the fleet, in line with internal policies and external audit requirements

  • Oversee vessel newbuilds, life‑extension programmes, refurbishments, and major upgrades, including design reviews, project delivery, commissioning, and sea trials
  • Champion engineering innovation, digitalisation, and technology adoption to improve fleet efficiency and future‑proof operations
  • Partner closely with Operations, Safety, Finance, Procurement, and other internal stakeholders to strengthen end‑to‑end fleet processes and cross‑functional effectiveness
  • Drive effective vendor and contractor management, ensuring cost optimisation, supply chain resilience, and sustained asset availability
  • Lead engineering’s contribution to sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives, including alternative fuels, energy‑efficiency measures, and emissions‑reduction strategies
  • Support business growth by partnering with commercial and business development teams on engineering inputs for turnkey solutions, overseas expansion, and new market opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with HR and union stakeholders to support workforce engagement, capability building, change management, and productivity initiatives
  • Develop and implement structured programs for competency development, performance management, and professional growth of engineering personnel
  • Foster a high‑performance engineering culture built on safety, governance, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Engage with regulators, government agencies, classification societies, technology partners, and academic institutions as required
