Job description
SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

This position is responsible for leading the regional medical affairs and real world evidence for three divisions. The role is split equally between Medical Affairs and RWE responsibilities, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence in both domains. The incumbent will support new product launches, guide medical marketing teams, participate in conferences, execute campaigns, and build regional programs. In parallel, the role will oversee Phase IV and real‑world studies across all businesses, including study initiation, investigator engagement, protocol development, and study oversight.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Affairs
  • Lead strategic planning and execution of medical affairs initiatives across the region
  • Guide medical marketing teams in developing campaigns and regional programs
  • Participate in and represent Terumo at key medical conferences and symposia
  • Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support product positioning and clinical education
  • Conduct internal training for sales teams and distributors on product knowledge and clinical outcomes
  • Approve technical content for marketing collaterals ensuring scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Terumo’s Medical Governance and quality standards
Real World Evidence
  • Manage ongoing Phase IV and real‑world studies across division
  • Initiate new studies by identifying unmet needs and engaging with investigators
  • Lead protocol development and ensure scientific rigor and regulatory alignment
  • Oversee study execution, data collection, and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate RWE insights into medical and marketing strategies
  • Publish study outcomes in peer‑reviewed journals and present at scientific forums
  • Maintain relationships with clinical investigators and research sites
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Medical Doctor with M.B.B.S or MD or Equivalent qualification
  • At least 10‑15 years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare and/or medical device industry
  • Ensures compliance with the highest clinical research and ethical standards
  • In‑depth experience of operating in the international arena
  • Pro‑active attitude, accuracy and strong communication skills are a must;
  • Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
