Located in Singapore, Daimler Truck South East Asia Pte. Ltd. (DTSEA) serves as the Regional Center for Daimler Truck’s commercial vehicle business across South East Asia and Southern Asia. Our dedicated team of over 60 colleagues drives the development and growth of our truck and bus operations in more than 20 diverse markets throughout the region.
As the head of the bus business, you will lead the strategic and operational development of Daimler Buses’ parts business across the region. This role demands a seasoned leader with deep bus industry expertise to drive CSP sales targets, shape market growth strategies, and execute impactful action plans along with the team. You will serve as a key partner to General Distributors (GDs) and TOCs, providing strategic direction and hands‑on support in CSP sales planning, performance management, and business development initiatives. Your leadership will be instrumental in strengthening customer relationships, enhancing service excellence, and delivering profitable growth across markets.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Business Planning and Monitoring
- Develop yearly targets for parts business and formulate business strategies for individual markets in support.
- Collaborate with markets to execute planning processes and ensure timely reporting.
- Review and set annual target agreements for parts and qualitative KPIs.
- Assess market performance against targets, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead resource planning during budget cycles.
2. Business Development & Growth
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable strategies to drive sales and market share.
- Collaborate with Bus Sales on product roadmap execution, including e‑Mobility initiatives.
- Develop and implement CSP marketing plans, promotions, and product launches.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance and regulatory standards.
3. Consultation and Engagement with Distributors & KAMs
- Provide strategic consultation and support distributors to drive business growth through implementing sales and marketing measures and to manage all projects.
- Regular consultation with key customers regarding product technology & new initiatives.
- Ensure distributors and TOCs are equipped with the necessary skills, tools and training to ensure superior customer service.
- Foster long‑term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
4. Competitive Parts Pricing
- Plan and conduct regular market studies, pricing analysis and assist in parts pricing formulation.
- Develop parts policies and parts pricing campaigns to ensure competitiveness against parallel imports, OEMS and replacement parts.
5. Aftersales & Customer Handling
- Maximize profitability in the service and parts business by ensuring efficient supply chain, technical support, and customer service.
- Liaise and coordinate with the Logistic Centers, relevant departments and/or suppliers to ensure that customer orders are expeditiously processed and delivered in accordance with customers’ requirements.
- Provide efficient support and seamless supply of retail network with parts and technical services (e.g. Information, Training, Tools, Processes) to maintain vehicle readiness and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee warranty and goodwill processes, and adequate budgets to balance the interests of manufacturers, dealers and customers.
- Attend to and monitor customer complaints, handle them in a timely manner and liaise with the relevant parties to ensure satisfactory resolution.
6. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing team through clear goal setting, performance management, and talent development.
- Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, diversity, and inclusion aligned with Daimler Truck corporate values.
- Drive organizational development through strategic hiring, succession planning, and continuous capability building.
And any other suitable tasks assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a minimum tertiary degree in Engineering or Business (major in sales & marketing) or similar.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in investment goods/ commercial vehicles (especially on buses)
- Strong product knowledge on buses and coaches, bodybuilders.
- Strong experience in market development of General distributors.
- Experience with Tender Management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both written and oral with cross‑cultural competence and customer relationship management.
- Highly analytical with proven leadership experience of at least 7 years.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
- Readiness to Travel (Estimated 30%).
