About the job

Rently is looking for a Finance Manager to own the financial core of the business.

We operate a fintech and lending business across Singapore and Dubai. As we scale, the financial complexity of the business is increasing, and we’re investing in stronger planning, visibility, and decision support. We’re looking for someone who deeply understands how money flows through the business and can help leadership make better decisions, faster.

This is our first dedicated finance hire and a critical role at Rently. You will sit at the center of planning, performance tracking, and decision support. Your primary focus will be FP&A, financial modelling, unit economics, and cash visibility.

You’ll work directly with the CEO and closely with the leadership team. You’ll be supported by internal accountants who handle day-to-day bookkeeping and a fractional CFO who acts as a senior advisor. Your role sits in between: hands-on, analytical, and close to the business.

What You’ll Do

Primary Responsibilities (Day-to-day, must be excellent)

📐 Financial Modelling & Forecasting

• Build, own and maintain Rently’s core financial model used for planning, fundraising, and decision-making
• Own rolling forecasts, key assumptions, debt investor reporting and scenario analysis
• Update projections as the business evolves and flag issues early

📊 Unit Economics & Portfolio Analytics

• Own unit economics across products and markets
• Track yields, defaults, provisioning, contribution margins, cohort performance, PAR30, write-offs, and IRR
• Help leadership understand what is working, what is not, and why

💸 Burn, Runway & Cash Visibility

• Maintain a clear, up-to-date view of burn, runway, and short-term liquidity
• Support the CEO on capital deployment decisions and pacing of growth

🤝 Leadership Decision Support

• Partner with the CEO/Founders and leadership team on pricing, hiring pace, market expansion, and growth vs. profitability trade-offs
• Prepare clear, concise materials for leadership, board, and investor discussions
• Secondary Responsibilities (Support / Coordination)

🧾 Accounting & Data Reliability

• Partner closely with internal and external accountants to ensure clean, timely, and reliable financial data
• You won’t do day-to-day bookkeeping, but you are accountable for having accurate numbers to drive analysis and planning

📜 Regulatory, Investor & Debt Reporting (Numbers-focused)

• Support regulatory and compliance reporting in Singapore and the UAE by owning financial inputs (not filings)
• Support debt investor reporting using existing templates and guidance
• Provide financial inputs for audits, tax, and licensing processes

🌍 Multi-Market Financial View

• Consolidate Singapore and Dubai into a single financial view
• Oversee FX exposure, intercompany considerations, and market-level P&Ls (oversight, not structuring)

📊 Financial Data & Analysis

• Pull and analyze data directly where possible (without relying heavily on engineering)
• Build dashboards or analyses to track performance, defaults, and unit economics using available tools

Who You Are

✅ FP&A-first, Hands-on Finance Operator

• ~7–10 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or related roles
• Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills
• Comfortable getting into the details and building models yourself

✅ Strong Foundation in Accounting

• Background in audit or accounting (Big 4 or in-house) strongly preferred

You understand how financial statements are built and how to pressure-test numbers

✅ Experience with Capital-Intensive or Lending Models

• Experience in fintech, lending, BNPL, or other capital-intensive businesses is a strong plus

• Comfortable working with loan books, portfolios, or cohort-based economics

✅ Clear Thinker & Communicator

• Able to explain numbers clearly to non-finance teammates
• Focused on what matters, not just what is technically correct

✅ Independent & Practical

• Comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect systems
• Able to create structure, prioritize, and move without heavy direction

⭐ Bonus:

• Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup
• Comfortable pulling data using SQL
• Experience with BI or analytics tools (Looker, Metabase, Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience working across multiple markets or entities

Tools & System

• Strong Excel / Google Sheets modelling skills required
• Experience with accounting systems such as Xero (or similar) preferred
• Comfortable working with raw data exports and financial systems
