Why This Role Matters

As a Finance Associate at Vertical Institute, you will play a vital role in:

  • Ensuring accurate day-to-day financial operations
  • Supporting compliance with IRAS, GST, and SkillsFuture-related submissions
  • Maintaining reliable financial documentation and supporting internal stakeholders
  • Strengthening financial processes through organization and continuous improvement

You will be working closely with our Finance Manager and contribute directly to the operational strength of our Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and financial data entry
  • Update ledgers, record transactions, and ensure correct documentation
  • Support accounts payable processes including vendor payments and invoice tracking
  • Assist in bank reconciliation and verification of transactions

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Assist in month-end closing activities
  • Help prepare basic financial reports, schedules, and summaries for the Finance Manager
  • Support account reconciliations between CRM/LMS, billing systems, and the accounting platform

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain organized financial files, documentation, and audit-ready records
  • Support finance compliance tasks related to IRAS, GST, and SkillsFuture claims
  • Assist in preparing materials for auditor or regulatory requests when needed

Process Improvement & SOP Support

  • Help maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and finance checklists
  • Assist in identifying workflow improvements or automation opportunities
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience in accounting/finance support (fresh grads encouraged to apply)
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and documentation
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, or cloud accounting tools
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
